How much do coin lockers cost in Japan?
Small lockers cost 300 to 500 yen, medium 500 to 700 yen and large 600 to 1000 yen for a 24 hour period. Major stations like Tokyo, Shinjuku and Kyoto sit at the higher end of the range.
Where can I find coin lockers in Tokyo?
Coin lockers are at virtually every JR and metro station in Tokyo, including Tokyo Station, Shinjuku, Shibuya, Ueno and Asakusa. JapanLockers shows live locations with sizes and prices on the map.
Can I leave luggage in a coin locker overnight?
Yes. Most Japanese coin lockers allow storage for up to 3 days. After the first 24 hours an additional daily fee applies, and after 3 days luggage is moved to the station office.

Most modern touch screen lockers at major stations accept Suica, Pasmo, Icoca and other IC cards. Older lockers still take 100 yen coins only.
What if all lockers at the station are full?
